Mac & Pinch is a cozy café tucked along Atholl Road in the heart of Pitlochry, offering a straightforward but well-crafted menu that suits both locals and visitors seeking a casual midday break. The atmosphere carries a relaxed, welcoming vibe typical of small-town cafés, where friendly staff ensure service is both quick and personable. Seating by the window provides a snug spot to watch the quiet street life while staying warm—a comfy choice especially on chillier days.

The menu leans into comforting, home-style dishes with Scottish touches. Regulars seem to appreciate the hearty options like haggis pie, sausage rolls served alongside fries, and a notably generous bowl of Cullen Skink that brings the taste of the region’s fresh fish to the table. Breakfast offerings such as fluffy scrambled eggs with smoked salmon show care in the cooking, and the variety of baked goods—including scones and cakes—pairs well with the café’s well-made coffees and hot chocolates.

Outdoor seating is available for those who prefer to enjoy their coffee or cake in the fresh air when the weather allows, making it a pleasant spot for a quiet pause on bright mornings or calm afternoons. The portion sizes are comfortably filling without being overwhelming, reflecting a neighborhood café approach that values satisfying, uncomplicated food over fussy presentation.

Ideal visits are during lunch hours or mid to late morning, when you’ll find a mix of locals popping in for a quick coffee or a more leisurely meal. Whether you're after a quick mocha with a lemon cupcake or a more substantial lunch like the baked potato with tuna mayo and salad, Mac & Pinch delivers with a straightforward charm and friendly service that suits everyday dining.

We had a great lunch at Mac and Pinch in Pitlochry. The service was quick and very friendly. We ordered a turkey sandwich and a haggis pie — both simple but delicious. A lovely place for a relaxed and satisfying meal!

Very cute cafe with fast excellent service and great food! I ordered the malt hot chocolate and fruit scone. My main dish was the scrambled eggs on toast with smoked salmon, and the eggs were so fluffy and creamy. The service and staff were extremely kind and efficient.

Went for a quick coffee, mocha, lemon cupcake and salted caramel sponge cake. The seating outside was comfortable and nice, service was clear. Coffee and cakes were excellent, however muffin was incredibly sweet.

Well never been here before but nice surprise. Sat beside the window nice and warm, staff friendly small menu but interesting. Coffee for me and Stovies with Beetroot and oatmeal biscuits. Real good amount beef in the Stovies and nice flavour, enjoyed. Partner had Cullen Skink big Bowl full and a big dod of brown bread, we both agreed one of the best we have had and loads of fish, bread was very good. Had a very very good look at the cakes on display looked very good and homemade. Will have to have next time in Pitlochery. Recommend a try.

Well where can I start. From the warm welcome to the engaging chat. Anita is simply an angel. Oh the cafe is also fantastic . Realistic pricing goes along way and the atmosphere very relaxed. Cosy little place and one to definitely visit if you want to sit back and unwind. Lovely quirky but mellow decor and a place you could spend a long time switching off from the world in. A lovely gem in the heart of Scotland with the loveliest of staff

Lovely wee place run by great people. Stopped in for a quick breakfast. Both had pancakes with bacon and it just hit the spot. Pancakes were delicious - I'll be back just to have those again. Coffee was great as well.

Had lunch with a colleague and then worked there for a little while afterwards. The team couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Service was quick and food was tasty. I've been previously, but it has since been refurbished and looks great. A must visit if passing or in Pitlochry. Look out for those cakes and the coffee is great too Thank you
